HONORS & AWARDS
Awarded to Athletic Trainers in Maryland

 

The Honors and Awards Committee needs your help to make sure our profession's top contributors are recognized. Any MATA member may nominate a colleague for one of the association's state honors or awards. 

The MATA awards are as follows:

Service Award
 

Awarded to an AT with 10 years minimum service to the MATA.

Pioneer Award
 

Awarded to an AT or other allied health professional who has contributed greatly to the evolution of the MATA.

Most Distinguished
Athletic Trainer

Awarded to an AT with 15 years minimum distinguished service to the MATA.

Presidential Award
of Merit

Awarded to an AT or other allied health professional who has contributed greatly to the evolution of the MATA.

Hall of Fame
 

Awarded to an AT with at least 20 years minimum practice/service to the profession with the last 10 years being in the MATA.

William B. Howard
Award

Awarded to an outstanding Team Physician with 5 years minimum of service.

**Please submit the MATA Nomination Form to the committee chairperson for the specific award. For the Pioneer Award, Presidential Merritt Award and William B. Howard Award, nominations can be submitted to Heather Kohlbus at MATAHonorsAwards@gmail.com.


Many awards require a candidate complete an application or submit supporting materials (letters of recommendation, vitae, etc.). We recommend you allow ample time to complete these materials by submitting your nominations early.
