Kelsey Loftus, DAT, LAT, ATC received her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training with a minor in Adapted Physical Activity from Slippery Rock University in 2019. She also received her Doctor of Athletic Training degree from the University of Idaho in 2021. Since 2023, Dr. Loftus has worked primarily with first responders, specializing in the care and prevention of injuries in fire rescue personnel with her work contracted through Concentra to provide AT services to Montgomery County Government. Dr. Loftus currently serves as the Council on Practice Advancement (COPA) chair for Maryland and presents at many local, regional, and national conferences on injury prevention and the importance of embedded ATs in public safety as well as sleep health education for first responders.
Chimere is currently the Athletic Trainer at Patterson High School, joining Baltimore City Public Schools’ Athletics Health and Safety Department in 2024. She has more than a decade of experience as a certified athletic trainer, with a diverse background that includes working in Secondary School Athletics, serving as a Physician Extender, DME Coordinator, and Orthotics and DME Specialist.
Chimere earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 2012 and a Master of Science in Athletic Training from Florida International University in 2014.
Through her diverse and nontraditional experiences in athletic training, Chimere discovered that her true passion lies in sports medicine and helping individuals achieve healthier, more active lives through movement.
A native of Maryland’s Lower Eastern Shore, Chimere enjoys returning home whenever possible to spend time with her family. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, watching sports, reading, catching up on her favorite television shows, exercising, and trying out new things.
